A Kittitas County deputy was arrested after getting into an argument with patrons and staff at the Brick Saloon in Roslyn Sunday morning.

The verbal dispute allegedly escalated to criminal conduct, according to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, but no other details have been revealed, as of this reporting. The deputy left the scene before law enforcement was called and was later arrested at his home on felony charges involving a firearm. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.

“In the interest of transparency and fairness, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) was asked to conduct the investigation,” the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office stated. “After speaking with his supervisor this morning, Deputy Burson voluntarily turned himself in to WSP.”

The deputy was booked into the Yakima County Jail. He was additionally placed on administrative leave, pending criminal and internal investigations.

“Public safety is and always will be the Sheriff’s Office’s priority,” Clay Myers, the Kittitas County Sheriff, stated. “These are serious allegations, and this office will respond in a manner that protects public trust, respects and supports the criminal justice process, and upholds the standards of the Office of Sheriff.”
