The Seattle Police Department (SPD) said two masked men broke into Seattle rapper Macklemore’s home in Capitol Hill early Saturday morning.

The suspects sprayed the nanny with bear spray and stole thousands of dollars worth of valuables while three children were inside the home, according to The Seattle Times.

Macklemore’s home burglarized

SPD officers responded to Macklemore’s home around 1 a.m. after a call reported an active burglary involving a chemical assault, according to KIRO 7.

Officers described the home as belonging to a “high-profile individual” and matched the address listed on Macklemore’s voter registration, but his name was not listed in the official report, KIRO 7 stated.

According to the SPD crime blotter, the nanny told officers she put the children to bed, and two men entered through the patio door.

One of the suspects sprayed the nanny in the face with bear spray, which temporarily blinded her, and then the same suspect helped to clean her eyes, according to KIRO 7.

SPD said that the suspects stole jewelry, watches, and shoes before pushing the nanny down and stealing her phone, KIRO 7 stated.

The woman bit one of the intruders, escaped the house, and fled to a neighbor’s home to call 911, according to The Seattle Times.

Both suspects were caught on surveillance video wearing tactical-style vests, gloves, and facial coverings.

No firearms were reported, the three children were unharmed, and SPD confirmed that thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen.

Recent string of Seattle burglaries

Macklemore’s home robbery comes days after a string of burglaries targeted high-profile Seattle athletes.

Current Seattle Mariners, Julio Rodríguez, Luis Castillo, and Hall of Famer Edgar Martinez, were all targeted by Earl Enderson Riley IV.

Riley also targeted former Seattle Seahawk Richard Sherman and Seattle native Blake Snell, currently playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
