One man was killed in a shooting in Burien early Friday morning, the King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Jace Hoch, the King County Sheriff’s Office’s master police officer, told KIRO Newsradio that deputies responded to a shooting at the corner of SW 130th Street and 2nd Avenue SW at approximately 3:40 a.m. Friday.
“When officers arrived, they found a man dead at the scene,” Hoch said.
In addition to King County deputies, members of the Burien, Shoreline, and SeaTac police responded to the scene, along with Metro and Sound Transit units.
Second person shot discovered
A short time later, someone flagged down deputies and brought them to another man with gunshot wounds. His wounds were not life-threatening, and he was quickly taken to a nearby hospital.
It is currently unclear whether the two men knew each other.
“2nd Avenue from 132nd to 128th will likely be closed down for a good chunk of the morning while they investigate,” Hoch added.
No arrests have been made, as of this reporting. Major Crimes detectives are interviewing several potential witnesses.
