67-year-old man killed while flagging down help for stalled truck in Eatonville

A man was killed last weekend while trying to flag down help for his stalled vehicle, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
The victim, a 67-year-old man, stepped out of his vehicle after his truck stalled on 304th Street E in Eatonville at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 15. He stood in the opposite lane of travel and attempted to flag other drivers for jumper cables for his truck.
As he was trying to flag other drivers, he was hit by oncoming traffic.
The driver who hit him stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to KIRO 7. There were no signs of impairment.
No arrests were made.
