Six stolen vehicles were recovered from an encampment in Maple Valley after King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies followed mud tracks off the highway.

While on routine patrols, officers found a strange trail off the Maple Valley Highway in Unincorporated King County, KCSO announced.

The fresh set of mud tracks led a deputy through the woods to an open gate with a broken lock.

2 men were found with several stolen vehicles in Maple Valley

Deputies continued their investigation and noticed two men in the distance near a motorhome. Once the men noticed the officers, they fled the scene.

The scene was determined to be an encampment that was surrounded by at least six stolen vehicles.

All of the stolen vehicles were recovered, and officers notified the owners. KCSO noted that the conditions made it impossible to fingerprint.

Both of the suspects who fled remain at large and have not been identified.
