A Marysville woman was arrested Saturday evening after police say she threatened to get a gun and shoot her daughter. Her arrest came after a SWAT standoff at the family’s home.

The girl called 911 and told dispatchers her mother had threatened to retrieve a firearm and shoot her, according to the Marysville Police Department. She got out of the house safely and met officers nearby.

Officers responded to the 8400 block of 74th Drive NE and set up a perimeter around the house. Police said they had probable cause to arrest the woman for felony harassment involving threats to kill.

Because of the threats, the possibility of firearms and their overall assessment of the danger, officers called in the Region 1 SWAT Team, according to police. Region 1 SWAT is shared by law enforcement agencies across Snohomish County. Police said they had information that the woman had multiple firearms registered to her.

After officers got a search warrant, SWAT teams used a flashbang distraction device, which police said neighbors may have heard as a loud bang. They also used an armored rescue vehicle, known as a BearCat, to break through the home’s front door.

After negotiations, the woman walked out into the front yard and was taken into custody without further incident, according to police.

Officers found multiple firearms when they searched the home afterward. The woman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

Traffic around the neighborhood was temporarily rerouted while police were at the scene. Police said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
