‘Suspicious’ Mason County death under investigation after friends discover body

A “suspicious death” in Mason County has been reported after a group of friends discovered a body while attempting to check on another friend, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced.
The group had not heard from one of their friends in more than a week, and after checking the residence, they found the body of a person.

In response to the 911 call, Mason County deputies, detectives, and the coroner’s office arrived on the scene in SE Mason County.
Detectives are currently working to obtain a search warrant and enter the building to begin processing and searching the area for additional evidence.
The MCSO labeled the residence in Mason County an active crime scene and will release information when available.
