Deadly I-5 shooting near Boeing Field disrupts morning commute, causes 3-mile backup

Authorities are investigating a shooting on I-5 north near Boeing Airfield in Seattle that occurred Monday morning.
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) officials said all lanes of northbound I-5 were blocked due to an incident around 6 a.m.

On I-5 northbound just north of Boeing Access Rd (MP 159) there is an incident blocking all lanes.

The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) said crews responded to a shooting, where a report of a man in his 30s was declared dead, according to FOX13.
WSDOT posted on X that the incident had resulted in more than 3 miles of traffic backups.
UPDATE 7:25 AM: The incident on NB I-5 just north of Boeing Access Rd is continuing to block the right lane.

WSDOT reported that all northbound I-5 lanes had reopened just after 8:30 a.m., nearly 3 hours after the initial report.
