An officer-involved shooting broke out early Tuesday morning in Bothell, with one of the suspects still on the loose.

At approximately 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, an officer with the Bothell Police Department attempted to make contact with a driver after witnessing them conduct an illegal U-turn on the 20800 block of Bothell-Everett Highway.

The officer approached the vehicle after the driver pulled into a 7-Eleven parking lot, but the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot once they saw the officer approaching. A second person in the car then moved to the driver’s seat and, as the officer continued approaching the vehicle, pointed a firearm at the officer.

In response, the officer fired multiple rounds toward the vehicle. The suspect reversed the vehicle, rammed the officer’s patrol vehicle, and fled the scene.

“Approximately one hour later, the suspect vehicle arrived at St. Anne Hospital in Burien and dropped off a 19-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds,” the Bothell Police Department stated. “The individual was later transported to Harborview Medical Center and remains in stable condition.”

The suspect vehicle was located unoccupied in Burien and has been seized as evidence.

“The original driver and additional passengers have not been located,” the Bothell Police Department said. “This remains an active investigation.”
