Officer, suspect in hospital after shooting in downtown Bellevue

Both an officer and a suspect are in the hospital following an officer-involved shooting in downtown Bellevue near the Transit Center around 12:30 p.m. Friday, Lake Forest Park Police Commander Ross Adams, spokesperson for the King County Independent Force Investigation Team, told KIRO Newsradio.

The Belleve Police Department stated both the suspect and the officer sustained injuries, but did not provide additional information.

Bellevue Transit Center will be closed for hours

Sound Transit reported that the Bellevue Transit Center was closed due to the emergency response, and police told KIRO Newsradio it would be closed for hours.

The transit center is located at 10850 N.E. 6th Street near the Bellevue Square shopping mall.
