An employee opened fire during a violent attempted robbery at a Lynnwood jewelry store, where suspects rammed a pickup truck into the front of the business.

Lynnwood police responded to the store in the 6500 block of 196th Street SW at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

“Preliminary information indicates multiple suspects used a pickup truck to ram the front of a jewelry business during an attempted robbery,” Lynnwood Police said in a news release. “During the incident, a business employee reportedly fired a weapon at the suspects.”

The suspects abandoned the pickup truck and fled in a black SUV and a silver sedan.

No injuries were reported inside the store, but police do not know whether any suspects were hit by gunfire.

“Anyone who witnessed the robbery or has video showing the suspects or involved vehicles is asked to contact Lynnwood Police at crimetips@lynnwoodwa.gov,” the release stated.
