‘The dude is actually a cop’: Man charged after pointing gun at undercover detective on Highway 509

A man has been charged with second-degree assault and unlawful firearm possession after he allegedly pointed a gun at an undercover detective on Highway 509 near 160th St., the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said.
Deputies pulled the man over near Ambaum Boulevard on Aug. 20. He denied pointing the gun.
“Did you pull a gun on someone on the highway?” a deputy asked.
“No,” the man replied.
“OK, great, because the dude you did it to is actually a cop,” the deputy said.
A search of his car turned up three handguns, cocaine, and a meth pipe.
Because the man has previous convictions for domestic violence, he cannot legally have a gun, authorities said in a Facebook post.
“Here’s a tip,” the post said. “Never point a gun at anybody. It might just be a police officer.”
