UPDATE: On Friday night, Seattle PD arrested a 35-year-old suspected in the homicide of a man found dead in Haller Lake.

Around 11:45 p.m., police said they found the suspect sleeping in a car near 9500 Ashworth Avenue North.

Police worked to get the suspect to give up and was arrested without any issues. The suspect was booked into King County Jail.

Original story:

A dispute in north Seattle ended in a fatal hit-and-run Friday evening when a suspect ran over a man with a vehicle, killing him.

Seattle police say the incident unfolded just after 5:30 p.m. in the Haller Lake neighborhood near N. 137th St. and Aurora Ave. N. The altercation between two people escalated, culminating in one individual using a vehicle to run over the other.

At 5:41 p.m., 911 calls reported a person lying in the roadway. Responding officers found a 31-year-old man unresponsive and suffering from life-threatening injuries. Medics rushed him to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, but despite efforts from trauma doctors, he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The driver fled before police arrived, and authorities have not yet identified the suspect or provided a vehicle description.

Detectives from the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units are working to determine the nature of the dispute and gather evidence to track down the suspect.

Police urge anyone with information to call 911 or the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000. Callers can remain anonymous.
