Poulsbo man faces DUI after car lands upside down in ravine, blew nearly 2x legal limit

A Poulsbo man is facing a DUI charge after the car he was driving ended up upside down in a ravine on Wednesday.
At approximately 5:17 p.m., Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies responded to the scene near Viking Way Northwest and Northwest Brite Star Lane, KCSO announced.

The driver told deputies that he swerved to miss an oncoming vehicle and lost control of his car on the wet pavement.
The man failed field sobriety tests and submitted a breathalyzer sample that registered his blood alcohol concentration was nearly twice the legal limit.
He was evaluated by doctors at St. Michael’s Medical Center before being booked into the King County Jail.
