Child in critical condition after found in apartment complex pond in Puyallup

A two-year-old child was found in a pond near the Riverside Park apartments Thursday morning, the Puyallup Police Department confirmed. The child is currently in critical condition.

Access to the apartment complex is partially blocked.

The incident caused a heavy police and fire presence in Puyallup near the apartment complex. It is unknown how the child ended up in the pond, as of this reporting.

The Puyallup Police Department is continuing its investigation.
