The chase began just after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Pioneer and South Meridian, according to KIRO 7.

A neighbor told Puyallup Police Department officers that the man was attacking his girlfriend, and the neighbor confronted the suspect with a gun in hand.

The suspect noticed the neighbor’s weapon and drove off in a car.

Officers discovered the woman was bleeding from her head and called paramedics.

Police searched the area for the suspect and spotted the man attempting to flee officers in his car. Officers followed the man, and he refused to pull over.

Officers noted that they were able to pin the suspect’s car between patrol vehicles, but the man rammed a patrol car to escape.

The chase continued, ultimately leading to a pit maneuver being conducted near the Washington State Fairgrounds.

The suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail for domestic violence assault, eluding, hit and run, and driving under the influence.
