A 31-year-old woman was arrested on June 27 by the Redmond Police Department (RPD) in connection with a series of fraud and identity theft crimes, RPD announced.

Jenna Fremling was arrested for using a stolen identity to make four unauthorized bank withdrawals that spanned from late April to late May.

Redmond fraud and identity theft arrest

Fremling used a stolen identity to withdraw $7,900 from a victim’s account in Redmond and surrounding cities between April 30 and May 5.

Additionally, Fremling used the same victim’s account to deposit checks under false pretenses and later withdrew the funds.

On May 28 and 29, Fremling used another stolen ID to purchase four vehicles from two car dealerships. Fremling also opened up a fraudulent line of credit and spent $1,200 on retail merchandise.

The total amount Fremling is believed to have obtained and spent in one month is more than $50,000, RPD stated.

The combination of surveillance footage, witness testimony, and a coordinated investigation between Redmond detectives and the Seattle Police Department led to Fremling’s identification and arrest without incident.
