Six people, including three juveniles, were arrested after a large fight broke out in the Sand Point neighborhood on Tuesday, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) reported.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., SPD officers responded to the incident near the 6800 block of 62nd Avenue Northeast.

Multiple juveniles arrested in Sand Point after fight

SPD officers arrived at the scene and discovered the fight was still active. A 19-year-old man was bleeding heavily from his face and having breathing difficulties.

Witnesses in the area guided officers toward three men allegedly involved in the fight, who had fled the scene on foot. Officers pursued the three men, and after a brief chase, all three were detained.

Police gathered witness statements and apartment complex video that showed six suspects were involved in the assault of the man. Three men, ages 17, 20, and 23, and three women, ages 15, 17, and 18, reportedly assaulted the man both inside and outside of an apartment.

The assault carried over into a courtyard between two buildings. An employee of the building tried to de-escalate the situation and was also allegedly assaulted by the group of six.

Seattle Fire Department (SFD) medics treated the man for his facial injuries at the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital.

The man was unable to give officers a full statement due to the extent of his injuries.

All six suspects were taken into custody by SPD officers and transported to the North Precinct.

The charges included assault in the third and fourth degree, as well as obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Anyone with any additional information about this incident is urged to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
