A 50-year-old man, Phillip Wayne Pitts, was arrested Tuesday on a felony warrant for attempted rape of a child and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
Pitts was already wanted by the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) for failing to appear on original charges of attempted rape of a child and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) announced.
During a proactive regional operation led by the Washington Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Pitts had initially been arrested on April 5, 2024.
Pitts later failed to appear for his Feb. 23 court hearing related to the case, prompting KCSO to issue a felony warrant alongside a $100,000 bond.
USMS Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force ultimately adopted the warrant.
Pitts was arrested without incident on Oct. 27 in the 5400 block of Delridge Way SW in Seattle and later booked into the King County Jail.
Anyone with information on other wanted fugitives is urged to contact the nearest U.S. Marshals office, the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102, or through the USMS Tips App.
