A 51-year-old woman was arrested after punching a firefighter, biting a police officer, and threatening to kill officers in the Central District on Thursday.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a report of a combative patient within a medic van in the 1400 block of S. Weller Street, SPD announced.

Officers located a furious woman seated inside the vehicle who was yelling and tossing items into the street.

Seattle suspect threatens, assaults authorities

The suspect yelled at SPD officers, using derogatory language and other insults. A Seattle Fire Department (SFD) medic reported that the woman punched him twice in the face and neck, which caused minor injuries.

SPD arrested the woman for assault. As the suspect was being placed in handcuffs, she bit one of the arresting officers, causing pain to the officer’s hand.

The suspect reportedly “made numerous more threats, telling officers that she would kill them and assault them further,” and “brags about assaulting police and not getting charged,” according to the police report.

The woman was eventually transported to the Harborview Medical Center for evaluation.

After the suspect was discharged, SPD officers booked her into the King County Jail for assault in the third degree.

SPD noted detectives in the Homicide and Assault Unit have been assigned to the case.
