A 41-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night for trespassing on private property while being in possession of a hatchet and a makeshift dagger.

At approximately 11 p.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers were alerted by a security guard in the 100 block of Broadway E., SPD announced.

The security guard revealed to officers that a man was trespassing on the property that he oversees.

SPD arrest ‘assaultive’ felon with makeshift dagger, hatchet

When the guard approached the suspect, he refused to leave. After officers ordered the man to leave and he refused, he was arrested.

SPD officers recovered a black hatchet with a duct-tape handle and a makeshift push-dagger wrapped in wire during the arrest.

“This type of dangerous knife does not appear to have any use other than to harm another human being,” the police report stated.

SPD noted the suspect is a convicted felon and is known to be assaultive with officers.

Officers booked the suspect into the King County Jail for criminal trespassing and unlawful use of weapons.
