Seattle officers arrested two men who allegedly carjacked a 65-year-old woman at gunpoint last week.

Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a report of a carjacking in the 3400 block of Rainier Avenue South, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).

They spoke with a 65-year-old woman who told them she was meeting up with an acquaintance to exchange some property when the person she met up with yanked her out of her sedan.

She said the acquaintance, who was with another man, pushed her to the ground before they took off in her white Nissan.

While responding to the carjacking, officers got a report about a second armed robbery in the 3200 block of Claremont Avenue South. Police believe that after stealing the Nissan, the two suspects pistol-whipped a 33-year-old man and stole his power tools.

The suspects were soon found nearby.

One suspect, a 29-year-old man, was found in a grocery store parking lot in the 2700 block of Rainier Avenue South. Police said when he was arrested, he was involved in a disturbance with store security.

A short time later, the second suspect, a 43-year-old man, was found walking near the grocery store parking lot. Officers took him into custody and seized stolen property from the second robbery, according to SPD.

Police determined both suspects used realistic replica pistols during the crimes. The men were booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
