Seattle police follow blood trail after Chinatown-ID stabbing, second victim not located

A stabbing in the Chinatown-International District left a 30-year-old with severe injuries and a blood trail to a possible second victim.
At approximately 7:20 p.m. Monday, Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a stabbing near 12th Avenue S. and S. Jackson Street, SPD announced.
At the scene, officers found a man bleeding with injuries to both of his hands and his head. SPD provided medical aid and applied a tourniquet to the victim.
The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) responded and continued treatment on the victim, who was later transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

During the SPD investigation, officers learned of a potential second victim, although they could not locate them. Officers found a blood trail that led towards 12th Avenue S. and E. Yesler Way, but the trail stopped at a nearby bus station.
The Real Time Crime Center captured a video of a fight between four people, two of whom appeared to be involved in the stabbing.
“As the two meet, both appear to be holding a bladed weapon and are seen slashing at each other,” according to the police report.
After the altercation, a gray van and a white sedan fled the scene. SPD said the involvement of the two vehicles is under investigation.
Police did not make any arrests, and the circumstances leading up to the stabbing are also under investigation.
