Armed man killed in deputy-involved shooting in Lynnwood area

A shooting involving at least one deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is now being investigated by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART).
The shooting happened in Lynnwood near Martha Lake Park at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies initially received a call about a disturbance taking place within a home on E. Shore Drive in Martha Lake. According to the sheriff’s office, they were told that a man was armed.
When deputies arrived, they encountered the armed man at the home.
“Shots were fired, and the suspect was shot,” a sheriff’s office spokesperson told KOMO News. “Life-saving measures were attempted, but the suspect died at the scene.”
No deputies or bystanders were injured in the shooting.
An investigation, led by SMART, into what led to the altercation and shooting is underway. This is the second shooting that has taken place in that neighborhood over the last few months.
