South Seattle shooting in hookah lounge kills 1, suspect at large

One person was killed in a shooting near the Chinatown-International District on Monday, and the Seattle Police Department (SPD) is actively searching for the shooting suspect.
At approximately 8:15 a.m., SPD announced the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Rainier Avenue S.
Officers located a victim in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound.
SPD determined that there was an altercation inside a hookah lounge that led to the shooting.
The adult male suspect fired multiple rounds, which struck the victim. Several bystanders were inside the business during the shooting, though they were not injured.
SPD advised people to avoid the area as the shooter remains on the loose.

The Seattle Fire Department transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died in the operating room.
SPD noted that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
