Venezuelan man found unresponsive in Federal Way motel

The Federal Way Police Department (FWPD) reported officers were called to a local motel on Saturday after the man was found unresponsive in his room. The staff administered two doses of NARCAN and performed CPR. The man was subsequently transported to the hospital and law enforcement received a court order to search the room.

The news release stated officers seized five bags containing around 3.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 12 bags of a “powdery substance” that will be tested, five bags of fentanyl pills with around 5,000 pills and two bags of a black tar substance appearing to be heroin. Police also seized three cell phones, a digital scale with drug residue and nearly $8,000 in cash.

The attorney’s office noted that there were no documents in the room indicating the man was in the U.S. legally.

As stated in the news release, the case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations and the Valley Narcotics Enforcement Team.

The man will remain in federal detention until his next hearing, which is scheduled for March 17.
