Three men hospitalized after violent robbery at West Seattle encampment

Three men were hospitalized after they were attacked and robbed at a homeless encampment in West Seattle.
The robbery happened Sunday at approximately 1 p.m. at a tent encampment inside Rotary Viewpoint Park, near 35th Avenue S.W. and S.W. Alaska Street. Three men, ages 28, 39, and 42, were asleep in a tent when, according to Seattle Police Department (SPD) investigators, someone deployed a fire extinguisher to flush them out. Then multiple people attacked them with makeshift weapons, including a crowbar, and ordered them to turn out their pockets.
All three suffered serious head injuries from the attack. Two of the victims of the attack were beaten unconscious and are in critical condition, as of this reporting. The third victim was able to escape, and is in stable condition.
The suspects managed to get away. SPD has yet to release a description.
“A police K9 team arrived at the scene,” SPD stated in its crime blotter. “They tracked the suspects to a tent in a nearby encampment. Police wrote a search warrant for the property and SPD’s SWAT team responded to serve the warrant. SWAT did not find anyone inside.”
