West Seattle shooting leaves 22-year-old woman hospitalized in serious condition

An investigation has been opened for a 22-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds who was found in West Seattle Thursday night, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) confirmed.
At approximately 10:50 p.m., SPD officers responded to a reported shooting near Southwest Admiral Way and 51st Avenue Southwest.

At the scene, officers found a truck with three women inside, ages 20, 22, and 25, including the victim. SPD noted the victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her lower extremities.
The victim suffered “multiple gunshot wounds to her left inner thigh, her pelvis, and her right buttocks,” according to the SPD report.
The other two women inside the vehicle did not get shot.
SPD and the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) provided medical attention to the victim at the scene.
The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in serious condition. Medics transported another female inside the vehicle to HMC for evaluation.
The suspect fled the area before SPD officers arrived at the vehicle. SPD was not able to determine the exact location of the shooting.
The SPD report noted the shooting was initially believed to be a random incident, but police uncovered evidence suggesting the shooting may have been domestic violence-related.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation by SPD.
