A suspect shot himself after allegedly killing a man at a United States Postal Service (USPS) facility in Tukwila Tuesday, the Tukwila Police Department reported on Facebook Wednesday.

The suspect allegedly shot a man at the facility and then fled. TPD said detectives and SWAT found the suspect in a vehicle Tuesday evening in Seattle.

“As officers and detectives moved in to detain the suspect, the suspect sustained a life-threatening, self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the department wrote.

The suspect was then sent to the hospital in critical condition, where police said he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

TPD added that both parties were identified as USPS employees and knew each other before the shooting.

“The shooting is believed to be an isolated incident between the suspect and victim,” the department wrote.
