...

If you’ve listened to John Curley on KIRO Radio over the past couple of years, you’ve probably heard him name drop that he’s a big wig in the City of Sammamish. Well, he doesn’t put it that way exactly – but he is a city councilmember.

But his time in civic leadership is coming to an end. Tonight (Tuesday) at their meeting, John is stepping down.

John sought counsel from co-host Tom Tangney on what he should say: his final words for the council. Perhaps he should borrow the words of a famous poet, Tom said.

And while John seemed fairly certain he wasn’t going to be quoting Maya Angelou in his final moments as Sammamish City Councilmember, he was sure his current plan wasn’t the best idea.

Because what John really thinks … is the meetings are far too long.
