NFL owners voted Tuesday on the site of the 2018 Super Bowl.

It was between New Orleans, Indianapolis and and the winning city, Minneapolis.

Each city has hosted the big game, albeit just once for Indy and Minny. New Orleans has staged 10 Super Bowls.

But Seattle has never had one.

The NFL owners generally prefer warm-weather cities. The league has a requirement that a host city with an outdoor stadium have an average temperature of 50 degrees in February, which Seattle doesn’t meet.

But the weather factor was waived for New York in 2014, and after their success, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said they might consider extending the game to other cold-weather cities without domes.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
