A duo of vacant office buildings in Issaquah — which are near Costco’s headquarters and had once been occupied by Microsoft — might be converted into nearly 300 apartment units, Connect CRE has reported.

Per a city of Issaquah notice of application cited by Connect CRE, Newport, California developer Vintage Housing is looking to transform the empty space into 410,848 square feet of housing. The proposal calls for the repurposing of two of the site’s three buildings, which had been occupied by Microsoft until its lease expired in 2023. The third building had been fully leased by Costco since 2014 and was acquired in 2024 for $61.8 million.

The Vulcan Real Estate-developed property’s landlord is an affiliate of Kennedy Wilson, who is Vintage Housing’s majority owner, Connect CRE noted.
