Habitat for Humanity Celebrating Completion of Its Largest-Ever Multi-Family Building

Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties is soon celebrating the completion of Liberty Commons, a 58-home affordable-homeownership community in Seattle’s Columbia City neighborhood the organization says is the largest multi-family building in its history.
A commemorative public-dedication ceremony and block party is set for July 18.
The event will run from 1-3 p.m. at the Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club location. The gathering will feature music, food, community-resource tables, games, and remarks from community leaders. Designed for families earning 80% or less of the area’s median income, Liberty Commons features 58 condominium homes, including studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. Through Habitat’s homeownership model, monthly mortgage payments will be capped at no more than 35% of household income. Located two blocks from the Columbia City Light Rail Station, the transit-oriented development also includes a shared outdoor courtyard for residents.

Habitat SKKC said in a release that it has more than 300 affordable homes planned through 2030.
