Immersive Gamebox, which provides immersive multiplayer gaming experiences that blend technology with popular entertainment franchises, is opening its first Pacific Northwest location at Westfield Southcenter in Tukwila on Friday.
The venue also marks the London-based company’s first U.S. franchise location, introducing the global entertainment concept to the greater Seattle market through a locally owned and operated franchise partner, according to a news release.
Immersive Gamebox plans a grand-opening celebration at 10 a.m. Friday, including a ribbon-cutting at 2 p.m., giveaways, and the first chance to experience the interactive entertainment destination. Bookings are now open, with a limited number of sessions available grand-opening weekend, according to the release. Regular hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday; and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday.
Designed for groups of two to six players, every wall becomes an interactive touchscreen where players’ movements control the game, no controllers required.
Partnering with studios that include Netflix, Warner Bros., and Sony, the brand invites players to step inside interactive adventures inspired by titles such as “Squid Game,” “Batman,” and “Floor is Lava” using projection mapping, touch-sensitive walls, motion tracking, and spatial audio.
“This opening is an exciting milestone for Immersive Gamebox as we bring our first U.S. franchise to life and expand into the Pacific Northwest for the very first time,” Lisa Paton, CEO of Immersive Gamebox, said in the release. “We’ve seen incredible demand for social, immersive entertainment around the world, and our franchise model makes it possible for a local operator to bring a globally proven brand to their own market. We’re thrilled to partner with our first franchisee in the US to introduce Seattle-area guests to a completely new way to play together.”
Navdeep Singh, general manager at Westfield Southcenter, welcomed Immersive Gamebox to Southcenter’s lineup of experiential retailers.
“As demand for entertainment offerings continues to grow, we’re excited to introduce this unique concept to our community,” Singh said in a statement.
The Tukwila location follows company-owned venues across North America and more than 35 locations worldwide.
