Mercurys Coffee Co. Sponsoring New Lenny Wilkens Documentary

Eastside staple Mercurys Coffee Co. is celebrating Pacific Northwest basketball icon Lenny Wilkens by serving as title sponsor of “Cornerstone,” a documentary exploring Wilkens’ life, career, and legacy, premiering Aug. 1 at Seattle’s Egyptian Theatre.

Mercurys joined the project after the unveiling of Wilkens’ statue outside Climate Pledge Arena, seeing the film as a way to support the community and share the player’s story, according to a press release.

“Lenny Wilkens’ legacy is woven into the fabric of Seattle,” said filmmaker and Slow Grind Media co-founder T.J. Regan in the release. “Our aim with the film is to preserve not just what Lenny accomplished in basketball, but the character and values that defined his life. We’re deeply grateful to Marilyn, Randy, and the entire Wilkens family for trusting us with his story.”
