Rowan, a mom-founded ear-piercing company, is opening a studio at Lynnwood’s Alderwood Mall on Aug. 15.

The location is Rowan’s second studio in Washington — the other is in Bellevue — and is part of the company’s growing network of more than 100 U.S. locations.

All of Rowan’s piercing technicians are licensed nurses, and every piercing is treated as a medical procedure. The company says its clinical approach, formal training standards, and hygiene practices are intended to make ear piercing a safer experience and have achieved an adverse reaction rate of less than 1%.

The Alderwood Mall studio will offer Rowan’s signature piercing experience alongside its selection of hypoallergenic jewelry.

“I wanted a place that was celebratory, safe, clean, but intentionally about ear piercing,” founder Louisa Schneider told 425 in May of the desires that led to Rowan’s founding. “It wasn’t a jewelry story, it wasn’t a tattoo parlor — it was an ear-piercing destination.”

Learn more about Rowan in this June 425 feature.
