Two months after word hit that the Issaquah Commons shopping center was getting its own Uniqlo, the organization has set an official opening date: Aug. 14.
The new store will have Uniqlo’s expected spread of stylish basics, including a full lineup of its LifeWear section in addition to exclusive designs from local artist Brandon Vosika through the business’s in-store print-on-demand service UTme!. Uniqlo also will, in celebration of its entrée into Issaquah, be putting on a full weekend of festivities to mark the occasion. Things will kick off with a traditional Japanese Taiko drum performance at 9:50 a.m. followed by an official 10 a.m. opening on the 14th, according to a press release.
The first 200 customers in line each day of the weekend will get a special-edition, goodie-packed Uniqlo knot bag and exclusive early access to shop the brand’s new “Chikawa” UT collection, which pays tribute to the popular manga series, the release continued.
Founded in 1984 in Hiroshima, Uniqlo has several brands in the Seattle area, including Lynnwood, Bellevue, Tukwila, and more.
