What to Know About Bellevue’s New Lime Scooters, Bikes

Together with Lime, the city of Bellevue is introducing shared electric scooters and bikes as a way to get around the Eastside town starting on Aug. 10.
In the initial launch, 350 scooters, 50 e-bikes, and 100 seated gliders will be available to use. Riders can use the Lime app or text (415) 463-3473 to unlock and use the devices. For eligible Orca Lift, RRFP, Medicaid, and users of other assistance programs, reduced fare is available through Lime Access. Starting in the fall, ride discounts will also be available for users whose trip ends close to a transit center or light rail station.
In order to keep sidewalks accessible, riders are encouraged, unless there’s no safe alternative, to stick to bike lanes and multi-use paths and not to park in curb ramps, sidewalks, transit stops, entrances to buildings, or areas marked as “no parking zones” in the Lime app. Instead, users can look for marked parking areas and other designated parking locations in the Lime app. A helmet is also required for bikes.
On Aug. 21 at the Amazon Meadow, Lime and the city of Bellevue will put on a joint community event to celebrate the launch. The free program will last from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and include free helmets from Lime and mobility resources from other community partners.
