It wouldn’t be summer in Seattle without Capitol Hill Block Party, and the iconic event just dropped a stacked indie-house lineup.

Fans have plenty to be excited about with headliners electronic hit machine Disco Lines, indie-pop sensation MUNA, and British indie-rock breakouts Wet Leg. The lineup also features Parcels, Magdalena Bay, DJ Trixie Mattel, Amber Mark, and Zack Fox, along with a Tinashe DJ set.

“This year’s lineup leans into the indie and electronic sounds that define the moment, while staying true to our roots by spotlighting an incredible number of Seattle artists,” Evan Johnson, Senior Vice President of Daydream State, stated on the event’s website.

Capitol Hill Block Party moves to August

The three-day block party is also shifting from its longtime end-of-July slot to the second weekend of August. Daydream State, the company that produces the event, moved it to August to build a stronger lineup.

“This year we saw a significant increase in artists’ touring activity in August, which created the opportunity to build a dynamic lineup across the entire weekend,” a spokesperson from Daydream State stated via email to MyNorthwest.

The festival will remain a 21+ event in the Pike/Pine corridor in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Festivalgoers can look forward to more than 100 performances across multiple indoor and outdoor stages, including at Seattle staple music venues Neumos and Barboza.

“Capitol Hill Block Party has always been about reflecting the energy of this neighborhood — creative, independent, and constantly evolving,” Johnson stated.

Seattle artists fill majority of lineup

Daydream State has also worked to keep the festival close to its roots, filling more than half of the lineup with Seattle artists. The company also plans to incorporate promotions and programming throughout the summer to drive foot traffic to Capitol Hill’s small businesses.

“We’re proud to continue growing this festival in a way that supports the community, our venue partners, and the broader Pacific Northwest music ecosystem,” Johnson stated.

Tickets are available on Capitol Hill Block Party’s website. A three-day general admission ticket costs $238.33, while a three-day VIP ticket costs $413. VIP tickets include a dedicated check-in line, access to two VIP lounges, private bars, restrooms, seating, phone charging stations, and snacks, along with exclusive enter-to-win contests for Capitol Hill Block Party prizes.

Daydream State noted additional ticket types, including single-day passes, will be released in the coming months.

How the No. 2 pencil became a uniquely American school supply staple

For generations of Americans, a sharpened No. 2 pencil has represented childhood and coming of age. Still a fixture of back-to-school shopping lists, it outlines a child’s first letters, erases their mistakes and lets them doodle in the margins when they daydream. For decades, sweaty hands clutched the ridged yellow wood on test day. “Bring […]

Economists don’t expect reopening the US to Mexican cattle imports to reduce high beef prices

The U.S. plans to reopen a border crossing in Arizona to cattle from Mexico on Monday as part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to reduce record-high beef prices, though economists doubt the move will mean much to grocery store shoppers.
