Where to eat and drink while enjoying the Puget Sound region’s best cherry blossom views

People hype up the summers in Seattle, but the springtime is just as beautiful. The end of the dark winter days is beckoned by the blooming of the 1,000-plus cherry blossom trees we have in the Puget Sound region. Trekking to some of the most famous and fighting through the crowds can be a workout. Here are my favorite spots nearby to grab a bite to eat or a refreshing drink.

BA Artisan Bakehouse, Bellevue

Bellevue Downtown Park is a classic spot for cherry blossom photos with downtown Bellevue in the background. It is also the perfect spot for an afternoon picnic, and Bakehouse would be my choice. This bakery is inspired by French patisseries, and I genuinely felt like I was in Paris. There are more than 40 menu options for an authentic taste of French cuisine.

Step inside and you will be greeted by a cozy and welcoming interior. The sweet treats and savory breads are all displayed for your choice. My favorites were the pistachio egg tarts, rose bagels, kimchi bacon bread, and Japanese cheesecake. There is also a café area for your caffeine needs. Make sure to get the rose latté, which pairs perfectly with your cherry blossom pictures!

Hello Robin, Capitol Hill

Aloha Street on Capitol Hill is like a postcard with cherry blossom trees lined up on both sides. I love a sweet treat that matches the aesthetic, and Hello Robin is perfect. Do not sleep on its taste, too, as it deserves its beloved status in the city. I enjoy their cookies and ice cream sandwiches even in the winter.

They have you covered for all your dietary needs with gluten-free, nut-free, and vegan options. Every single flavor is amazing, although I am partial to the s’mores and birthday cake cookies. Hello Robin is also partnered with Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream, so you can enjoy a scoop of their ice cream with their cookies. It’s a fantastic sweet treat for any occasion.

Piacere Trattoria, Burien

Angle Lake Park has scenic views of cherry blossom trees with the lake in the background. It is near SeaTac, so you might even be photobombed by some airplanes. Italian food is the perfect hearty meal afterward, and I found the perfect spot in Piacere Trattoria.

The chef, Michele Godina, honed his culinary skills in Liguria, where focaccia and pesto originated. They were both immaculate, but make sure to sample the rest of their menu. My favorites were the black-ink tagliolini and the caciucco stew. There is even a tableside service so you can watch your pasta cook. End your meal with the dolce trio dessert for the perfect night.

TP Tea, University District

Last but not least, we must go to the University of Washington (UW) quad to see the famous cherry blossoms. TP Tea was my favorite thing to have in the quad when I was a Husky. TP Tea is derived from Chun Shui Tang, the world’s first boba shop. That is how you know it is authentic!

What I love about TP Tea is that they freshly brew their tea from leaves instead of using powder. This leads to their milk-to-tea balance being perfect. Their pearls are consistent and are chewy without being mushy. My favorites are their Pearl Milk Tea, Velvet Lychee Fresh Milk, and QQ TP Milk Tea — the perfect drinks to enjoy the cherry blossoms with.
