Oregon’s Mt. Bachelor ski resort is opening for the season Tuesday.
After 19 inches of snow fell at the base of the mountain over the past week, the popular ski resort announced it will be open for the season starting Tuesday, Dec. 23.
“We’ve had about 19 [inches] of snow at the base in the last week and should continue to see light snowfall and colder temps this week,” Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort stated on social media. “Uphill and Nordic remain closed until 9 a.m. tomorrow.”
The resort stated skiers should stay tuned today for more detailed information regarding opening day lift operations and the event schedule.
“Please note that early-season conditions and obstacles exist across the mountain,” Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort stated. “Ski and ride with caution and stay on groomed trails. We can’t wait to see you on the hill tomorrow!”
Skyliner, Little Pine, Pine Marten, and Red Chair are expected to open at 9 a.m. Tuesday. A toast to the season will be held on the West Village Deck at 11 a.m.
