Redmond Expands RedLink Electric Shuttle Service Area

The city of Redmond announced today that it has expanded the service area for RedLink — a free, on-demand, all-electric ride service — to include the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village, the Woodbridge neighborhood in Southeast Redmond, up to Northeast 104th Street on Education Hill, including Hartman Park and the Redmond Pool.
Service area changes began today and have been implemented, in part, due to community feedback, the city said in a news release. A map of the service area is here.
The city also is creating a Shared Parking Program for individuals to park in designated areas within RedLink’s service area, request RedLink service, and ride to light rail or other locations. That program also started today.
For the parking launch, the city partnered with the Redmond Assembly of God church on Education Hill, where a limited number of parking spaces will be available for use during RedLink business hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. Those who park in spaces not identified by RedLink shared parking signs will be towed, the city said.
“We’ve already seen great success in the first six months since launching the RedLink program,” Mayor Angela Birney said in a statement. “We are excited to expand the service even further to connect more people to light rail, jobs, and activities in our city.”
RedLink — a pilot program that began in March and was partly inspired by Bellevue’s free electric shuttle service, BellHop — helps residents and visitors get around downtown Redmond, Southeast Redmond, and Education Hill easily, affordably, and sustainably. The pilot is expected to run through June 2027 and use funding from the city, Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, and a Washington State Regional Mobility Grant.
Redmond will continue to evaluate service enhancements based on community feedback and budget. Bellevue’s service in also started as a pilot, in 2023, before securing long-term funding in 2024.
