Before it could call itself a state, Utah had an amusement park. Celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2026, the Farmington attraction has been entertaining generations since 1886, making it one of the oldest family-owned amusement parks in the United States — and the 15th oldest amusement park in the country.

Lagoon remains Utah’s only major amusement park to this day, rivaling Southern California’s parks with more than 50 rides, a full water park, Kiddieland for little adventurers and live entertainment throughout the season. Better yet, it’s one of the few amusement parks where you’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks, giving budget-minded families one less thing to worry about.

But don’t mistake 140 years of history for standing still. Lagoon just rolled out some exciting new additions for 2026.

Lagoon’s Newest Rides

Leading the lineup is Nutcracker, the park’s newest adrenaline rush. Debuting this spring, the massive thrill ride launches brave riders 150 feet into the air at speeds up to 68 mph before dropping into a stomach-flipping, weightless free fall. If your vacation checklist includes “question my life choices for approximately 12 seconds,” this one’s for you.

Lagoon is also embracing its growing adult fan base with the debut of Flirty Birdie and the Carousel Club, the park’s first-ever 21-and-over social spaces. Whether you’re taking a break between roller coasters or visiting without kids in tow, they’re a welcome new addition to the park.

Fall Festivities

The fun doesn’t stop with the rides. Lagoon’s lineup of live entertainment includes signature illusion and magic shows that have become a longtime guest favorite, while fall brings one of Utah’s most beloved Halloween traditions. From Sept. 11 through Nov. 8, Frightmares transforms the park with haunted attractions, spooky entertainment, a straw maze and plenty of seasonal screams.

While you’re in Davis County, wander through nearby Farmington Station Park for dinner, shopping or dessert before calling it a night. Or make it a weekend getaway. With Salt Lake City just 10 minutes away, Lagoon makes the perfect jumping-off point for exploring even more of northern Utah.
