3-alarm fire rips through apartment building in downtown Olympia

A massive fire in downtown Olympia is now under control.

Olympia Fire and mutual aid units responded to the large fire at a five-story apartment building under construction on Capitol Way North and Olympia Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The fire spread to other three other buildings, with crews managing to quell it roughly three hours later.

The cause of the fire is unknown and currently under investigation.
