A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was pulled from Lake Washington.

Renton firefighters responded to reports of a possible drowning at a condominium building near Gene Coulon Park at about 11 a.m. Thursday, KIRO 7 reports.

When they arrived, the boy was on a dock.

According to witnesses, the boy wandered from a play area through a fence opening to the private dock at the condominiums.

A construction worker from an adjacent condo project jumped in to pull out the child.

Renton fire said the boy was not seen for several minutes when a passerby spotted him in the water and pulled him out.

The boy has been transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. He had a heartbeat when he was transported, according to Renton fire.
