5 girls hospitalized after taking prescription drugs at Chehalis high school

Five teen girls have been hospitalized after getting sick from taking prescription medications one of the girls brought to their Chehalis high school Friday.
Stacy Brown with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office says a 16-year-girl brought the drugs to Onalaska High School, passed them out to four friends and took some herself.
The may also have been drinking alcohol, Brown says.
The girls were transported to Providence Medical Center Centralia for observation just after 12:30 p.m.
There’s no word on what drugs the girls took or how much. An investigation continues and Brown says the girl who brought the drugs to school could face charges of delivery of a controlled substance. The girl’s parents have been notified.
“The obvious safety message here is don’t ever take anything that you don’t know what it’s for, or something that’s not prescribed for you. There could be really dire consequences, permanent injuries and even death,” Brown says.
