Accused drug dealer busted after carjacking undercover cop car, running down I-5

An accused drug dealer is in jail after trying to avoid arrest by carjacking an unmarked police car and running onto I-5 in Everett.
Arlington police say the 33-year-old suspect had been under investigation for dealing methamphetamine and heroin. When police, in cooperation with Everett police and the Snohomish Regional Drug and Gang Task Force, tried to capture him Wednesday at a motel near the Everett Mall, the man took off.
Police say the arrest was part of a follow-up investigation that began in Arlington on November 2, 2014, when the same suspect fled police by jumping from the second story of an Arlington hotel after he was contacted by a patrol officer regarding a noise complaint.
Police discovered a large amount of drugs in his hotel room and learned he was wanted on outstanding warrants for dealing drugs.
Between the two incidents, Arlington police were able to seize almost three pounds of methamphetamine, almost one pound of heroin and almost one pound of processed marijuana, with a street value of over $60,000.
The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on two counts of violating federal drug laws and one count of resisting arrest, along with his outstanding warrants.
He faces up to 10 years in prison and/or up to a $25,000 fine if convicted.
