All lanes of I-5 reopen following chain reaction collisions near Mount Vernon

The vehicles involved in chain-reaction crashes that blocked all lanes of northbound I-5 at the Skagit River Bridge were cleared at approximately 1:40 p.m.

One crash involved two semi-trucks and four to five cars. The other involved four cars, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash also blocked the College Way junction in Mount Vernon, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Mark Francis.

Minor injuries were reported.
