Two left lanes are blocked on northbound I-5 just south of Mercer Street for a collision.
KIRO Radio reporter Kimi Kline said the backup is relatively short – stretching under the convention center – but that is expected to grow.
The Washington State Department of Transportation said Medical Aid, Fire Assistance, the Incident Response Team, and the State Patrol have arrived on the scene.
