Another death at Snohomish County jail

Another inmate has died in the Snohomish County jail. That makes eight deaths at the facility in the last three years.
A 51-year-old woman died in the jail Friday night. She was in the medical unit at the jail and being checked on about once an hour. She is the eighth inmate to die in the jail, and the third to die while in that medical unit.
The two other medical unit deaths have spurred lawsuits claiming the inmates were denied basic medical care.
The Herald reports the number of deaths prompted the county to ask the Department of Justice to visit the jail and review the conditions and policies. That visit is expected soon.
Other deaths include an overdose, natural causes, and suicide.
